ET-209RST RJ-45 to Fibre Optic (ST) Ethernet Converter.Ethernet Full Duplex Copper to Fibre Media Converter with ST or SC Fibre Connections. Available in both Mulitmode and Singlemode variations.
Alloy offer a complete range of media conversion for Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, ATM, and asynchronous Serial Networks over various interface types such as Multimode and Singlemode Fibre Optics, Copper RJ-45 and copper Serial. All Converters are fully compliant with IEEE multiprotocol standards, including 10Base-T/2/FL, 100Base-TX/FX, 1000Base-SX/LX, and ATM protocols.
The Converters ship as standard with a mains plug pack, but can also be directly powered from a PC or Notebook via a PS2 keyboard adapter or a spare USB slot (FE-C120 series only). For centralised media conversion a hot-swappable, 10 slot, 19 inch rackmount chassis can be used to provide a single power source for multiple converters. The Rack chassis solution provides various power options from Dual redundant to single power supplies in either Mains AC voltages or Telco 48V DC options.
Specifically the ET-109/209 range of converters are used for conversion of 10Base-T to Fibre 10Base-FL standards. They are fully compliant with the IEEE 802.3 standards and feature one fibre port using either ST or SC connectors, and one RJ-45 10Base-T port (DTE/MPR switch is used to select either workstation or Hub connection). Distances of up to 2Km are possible on standard Multimode fibre, and upto 10Km with the ET-209RST.S on Singlemode fibre.
Each model has 4 LED indicators for monitoring and diagnosing power, UTP Link/Activity, Fibre Link/Activity and collision.
The ET-109RST/C performs Media conversion and Repeater functions in Half Duplex environments.
The ET-209RST/C performs Media conversion in Half Duplex and Full Duplex Environments.
The E-109/209 media converter can be installed as a standalone unit or as a slide-in module to the 19" converter rack ( CR-1000 ) for use at a central wiring closet.
