HCS-40-7 8 Port 32-bit PCI RS-232 SMD Card.The PCCOM 8 port adapter is a 32 bit PCI bus card with Plug and Play (PnP) features. It provides eight asynchronous serial communication ports (RS232 or RS422/RS485), for connection with standard serial peripheral devices such as terminals, modems, serial printers, plotters etc.
PnP features allow hardware configuration for IRQ and I/O address to be detected by the BIOS automatically. No switch or jumper settings are required.
To enable use of standard COM1 and COM2, the PCCOM PCI bus 8 port adapter can be configured from COM4 upwards. The On board PLX9054 chip provides Integration of four 16550 Uarts, each contain a 16 byte FIFO buffer. The cards can operate in two modes, normal speed mode with baud rates up to 115200, and high speed mode with baud rates up to 460K.
Each board is supplied with connectivity ports via an External Expansion box, with 8 RJ-45 ports mounted.
