16 Slot Managed Rackmount 10Gigabit Media Converter ChassisThe Xtramus MCS-2160 is a managed rackmount Media Converter Chassis solution for use in 10Gigabit network environments where large numbers of copper and fibre network links need to be interfaced. XC Series Media Converter Module Cards are installed in the chassis slots.
MCS-2160 Media Converter Chassis Systems are a complete and versatile solution for applications such as FTTx, CWDM, and Carrier grade Ethernet. With support for all 10Gigabit protocols, XC Series Converter Module Cards support a wide variety of applications.
The MCS-2160 chassis supports up to 16 XC Series 10Gigabit Media Converter Modules of any mix, enabling the installation of modules with 10Gigabit RJ-45, CX4, SFP+ or XFP interfaces and supporting 10GBase-CX4, 10GBase-T, 10GBase-SR and 10GBase-LR network links over copper or fibre optic cable.
XC Series Converter Module Cards support MIB Counter Reporting, including counters such as Packet, Byte, Broadcast packet, Pause Frame, Length: 64 Bytes, Length: 65-127 Bytes, Length: 128-255 Bytes, Length: 256-511 Bytes, Length: 512-1023 Bytes, Length: 1024-1518 Bytes, Unicast packet, Multicast packet, CRC Error, IP Checksum Error, Under size packet, and Over size packet.
All XC Series Converter Module Cards are equipped with real-time LED indicators, which display the status of each port, allowing users to easily view network status.
MCS-2160 Media Converter Chassis systems provides an easy-to-use management webpage, which allows users to view system status, counters, network statistics and upgrade firmware/FPGA.
Chassis sensors monitor system temperature, fan rotation speed and system voltage.
The optional XC-CASC Module Card enables the cascading of multiple MCS-2160 chassis, where very high densities of 10Gigabit media conversion need to be supported. Cascaded chassis are managed via a single IP address.
The MCS-2160 Chassis supports single or dual redundant hot swappable AC or DC power supplies, with alternate models rated at 100 or 300 watts
