100Base-TX to 100Base-FX (ST) PoE ConverterThe POE200ST media converter provides 10/100Base-TX to 100Base-FX multimode fibre conversion with additional support for POE power output on its RJ-45 copper interface for powering of devices such as IP Phones and Wireless Access Points. Link Failure Propogation (LFP) is supported via a unique Force Link mode as well as Far End Fault modes
Alloy PoE 100 and 200 series Media Converters are used to inter-connect UTP copper and Fibre optic network types, while additionally providing the ability to supply power to appropriate endpoint devices via UTP cable.
All models are fully compliant to the IEEE802.3af Power Over Ethernet standard. These AC powered PoE Media Converters are Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) devices, which combine data received over a fibre optic link with 48VDC power, providing power to IEEE802.3af powered devices (PD devices; for example Alloy POE120 series converters, IP Phones, Wireless Access Points etc.) over existing CAT5 UTP cable.
All Media Converter models include signature sensing and power monitoring features compliant with the IEEE 802.3af standard, This includes, PD discovery, classification, current limiting and other necessary functions. It also supports high levels of safety support with short circuit protection and power-out auto-detection to the PD.
POE100 and POE200 series Converters support LFP (Link Failure Propagation), allowing network administrators to easily diagnose link faults on their network. If the Copper or Fibre link fails, the Converter forces the link status of the connecting device to also fail.
