RHINO-220 Industrial Network Appliance

The Rhino-220 is Industrial Network Appliance, and features a low power, fanless design. The device is designed to the latest ETX (Embedded Technology eXtended - highly integrated, PC compatible Single Board Computer) Computer-on-Module specification. RHINO Appliances can be supplied in two formats; either as a hardware-only solution (RHINO-220), or pre-loaded with IntraVUE Lite Industrial Network Management software (RHINO-220IL). The RHINO-220IL is configured with an Intel Pentium M 600MHz or Celeron M 1.0GHz powered embedded automation computer and a pre-configured Windows XP Operating System. The appliance supports one SO-DIMM 400 FSB memory module (up to 1 GB). Dual Intel® 82562ET 10/100 Ethernet controllers provides ample network traffic for data exchanges. The I/O subsystem supports four serial ports for legacy device connection; two RS-422/RS-485 and two RS-232 interfaces are supported with Automatic Flow Control, ±15 KV ESD protection and 2000VDC optical isolation. Memory backup is supported via an optional NVRAM socket dedicated plug-in memory. Ethernet applications in industrial environments are continually evolving. With a shift from traditional IT-based high level communications to real time applications (often in separate and isolated networks), Ethernet support by local resources is becoming increasingly important. In these scenarios, the Rhino-220IL with IntraVUE Lite provides the ideal platform for local continuous monitoring and trobleshooting of Industrial Ethernet communications at the PLC and I/O level. The RHINO appliance is also well suited for remote isolated I/O networks where there is no local computer to run IntraVue Lite; the device does not require a monitor, keyborad or mouse, as all viewing and administration is accomplished remotely. The RHINO-220 Appliance on it's own is a powerful platform for a wide variety of applications in Industrial environments.
