Fast Ethernet Metro Access CPE Router with 100Base-TX WAN, 4 port Switch, OAM Management

The EC3805 is a CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) Router with 4x 10/100 RJ-45 LAN and 1x 100Mbps 10/100 RJ-45 WAN ports, designed for Ethernet to the Home (ETTH) deployment for consumer or business subscriber access to Service Provider systems.

Description

The EC3805 is a CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) Router with 4x 10/100 RJ-45 LAN and 1x 100Mbps 10/100 RJ-45 WAN ports, designed for Ethernet to the Home (ETTH) deployment for consumer or business subscriber access to Service Provider systems.

The EC3805 CPE Router has four port 10/100Mbps copper RJ-45 LAN ports for network connections within the subscribers site, and a 100Base-TX WAN port for connecting the device to the Service Provider's system the enduser customer is sunscribing to. The 100Base-TX WAN port can support UTP cable lengths of up to 100 metres, suitable for connection back to a Service Providers FTTx Metro Access Switch (or similar device) serving an apartment block or office building (see Edge-Core's ES3528 and ES3528-WDM Metro Access Switches in the "Product Series" tab).

The EC3805 is easily deployed - it is a Plug-and-Play device with no enduser configuration required. It can be configured in either bridge or router mode. The CPE Router provides the wire-speed performance ideal for subscribers accessing triple play service content or for business customers requiring high speed data transmission. The device is compact and weighs 500 grams, and can be desktop or wall mounted.

For the Service Provider, the device supports Operations, Administration and Maintenance (OAM) functions used in traditional carrier networks to effectively maintain and troubleshoot broadband Ethernet networks. These 802.3ah "Ethernet in the First Mile" features support basic (Discovery, Remote Failure Indication, Link Monitor and Remote Loopback) and advanced management (including Reset Remote Devices and Remote Firmware Upgrade).

The EC3805 is a member of Edge-Cores FTTx Switch Series - a comprehensive range of Metro Access Switches and CPE subscriber devices.
