The ES3528 Modular Metro Access Switch is designed for Service Providers, providing a powerful, resilient hardware platform to deliver secure triple play services, and OAM administration tools to manage services for large numbers of subscribers.

The Edge-Core ES3528 Metro Access Switch is a modular device designed for Service Provider who wish to support large numbers of service subscibers on a Metro Ethernet network. The switch is easy to deploy and maintain, and the modular design provides for scalability of network uplink options and flexibility to achieve the specification desired for the switch. The ES3528 has 24x fixed 100Base-TX copper RJ-45 ports and 2x combo Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45/SFP that support network uplinks over copper UTP or multimode, singlemode or WDM fibre optic cable. Two Expansion Bays support a variety of optional extra network ports. Dual redundant power supplly modules are housed in two Power Bay slots - these can be either AC or DC modules (Power Supply and Fan Modules not included with Switch).

The ES3528 provides a powerful suite of software and management functions designed to support Service Providers offering secure triple play services to large numbers of customers. These features ensure robust, carrier grade subscriber, switch, and network security. Software functions include Operation Administration Maintenance (OAM) for Ethernet to enable Services Provider to manage large, complex networks with extensive subscriber numbers, and to help Providers isolate, maintain, and manage network traffic. Other features include 802.3ah 'Ethernet in the First Mile' standard compliance, Q-in-Q, and Carrier Class Rate-Limiting and QoS.

The ES3528 is a member of Edge-Core's FTTx series of Metro Access Switches and CPE devices that provide complete solutions for service provider infrastructure and subsciber endpoint Merto Access networks.
