The Edge-Core ES3528MV2-DC is a Fast Ethernet Layer 2/4 switch with 28 ports: 24x 100Base-TX ports and 4x combo Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45/SFP (Small Form Factor Pluggable) port arrays. This switch is ideal for desktop Fast Ethernet connectivity and wiring closet installations with their fanless design for silent operation. Using IP Clustering for a virtual stack of up to 36 switches, the whole stack can be managed as a single entity with a single IP address. These switches are packed with features and are a cost-effective solution that brings continuous availability, enhanced security and advanced layer 4 QoS functions to the network edge.

With 12.8Gbps switching capacity, the ES3528MV2-DC delivers wirespeed switching performance on all ports. The SFP slots on the switch support all types of Gigabit mini-GBIC modules - 1000Base-T copper UTP as well as multimode, singlemode and WDM network connectivity over fibre optic cable - enabling copper or fibre uplinks.

The ES3528MV2-DC provides comprehensive Layer 2/4 management features, accessed via an easy to use web-based GUI, CLI via console port or Telnet, or SNMP. Comprehensive management features include standard and rapid Spanning Tree Protocol support, 802.1q VLAN, 802.3ad LACP and Trunk Groups. These features are complemented by QoS (Quality of Service) and security functions. The switch also supports OAM management features including IEEE 802.3ah Link, IEEE 802.1ag Connectivity Fault Management and ITU-T Y.1731 Performance and Throughput Management, making this switch suitable for use in Service Provider infrastructure.

The ES3528MV2-DC supports IP Clustering, allowing up to 36 switches to be virtually stacked - the whole stack can be managed as a single entity from a single IP address.
