The MCS-2160 Managed Media Converter Chassis is a complete and versatile solution for all types of 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) media conversion. 16 chassis slots support XC Series Converter Modules with RJ-45, CX4, XFP and SFP+ interfaces.

The Xtramus MCS-2160 Media Converter Chassis system is a complete and versatile solution for media conversion applications in 10 Gigabit Ethernet environments. The system also supports Gigabit Ethernet copper to multimode, singlemode of WDM fibre media conversion. The chassis provides 16 slots into which can be installed XC Series 10GbE or Gigabit Media Converter Module Cards, enabling the scalablity and flexiblility for a wide variety of applications suited to the specific topology of your network. XC Series Module Cards can be installed in any combination in an MCS-2160 chassis, providing all the core 10GbE interfaces such as UTP, SFP, SFP+, XFP and CX4 and supporting 10GbE protocols such as 10GBase-T, 10GBase-LR, 10GBase-SR and 10GBase-CX4.

The MCS-2160 Media Converter Chassis is a managed device, provided with an easy-to-access Web interface which enables users to view system status, counters, upgrading firmware/FPGA and network statistics. In addition, the XC-CASC module card allows you to cascade multiple MCS-2160 chassis for centrally managing a number of chassis via a single IP address.

An MCS-2160 system supports MIB Counter Report, including counters such as Packet, Byte, Broadcast packet, Pause Frame, Bytes Length (various sizes to 1518Bytes), Unicast packet, Multicast packet, CRC Error, IP Checksum Error, Under size packet, and Over size packet. All XC series module cards are equipped with real-time LEDs which display the status of each port, thus allowing users to view network status easily.

An optional Fan Tray is available (recommended when 10GbE Modules in use). The MCS-2160 has provison for dual AC or DC Power Modules, enabling the unit to be powered by either a single power source or to be safeguarded by Dual Redundant Power Supplies. An optional Fan Tray (MCS-FANT-5)can be instaaled for enhanced ventilation.
